Grote Builders, Inc. was founded in 2011 by Erik Grote. Born and raised in Vershire, VT, Erik began in the trades at an early age, working in excavation and carpentry during summers as a teen. With his passion for building and love for working with his hands, it was an easy choice to begin working full-time as a carpenter in 2001.

Early in his career, Erik worked alongside master carpenters and small contracting firms in central Vermont and New Hampshire gaining experience in remodels, new builds, and custom projects from inception to completion. To grow his knowledge base, Erik traveled for a few years in his early twenties to work on building projects in Cape Cod, Nantucket, Melbourne Beach, FL and Jackson Hole, WY.

After spending several years in Montpelier, VT and working in the Waterbury, VT area, Erik moved back to Vershire, VT in 2014 to build his own house where he lives with his partner Ellen and their two dogs, Jackson and Bogey.  

Grote Builders, Inc. was founded with the understanding that every project is unique and the journey to completion should be a thoughtful collaboration.
